Update till 13 Oct
I'm now in Bangkok. Mark went back to work on Tuesday & I made my way up here. After spending a night in Phuket town I got here at 5am yesterday morning. There was nothing but rain in phuket & forcasted for at least the next 10days... Who would have guessed it... Rainy season & all ;) lol. So I thought that I'd give the beaches a miss & celebrate my 30th in Bangkok with some friends Mark & I met in Malaysia.
Mark & I had a great time in Malaysia & Singapore then once he finished his training in Singapore we ducked over to the Indonesian resort island of Bintan for 3.5 days. It was lovely! The resort had its own private beach & the sea was beautiful. Mark had a bit of uni work to do so I got to be lazy & split my time between the deck chairs by the pool & the deck chairs at the beach :) We did however go jet skiing on our last day there, which was awesome. I can see it becoming a regular occurrence. Although been blond as I am & thinking myself invincible as I haven't gotten sun burnt since I've been here... We were running late for the jet skis & I had put sunscreen on my shoulders & arms but thought my legs would be fine... ummm... well... that assumption was VERY incorrect. Afterwards, my legs weren't just red, they were bright red. It's now 4 days since & they're still red - go
Rach! :D
Oh the other exciting news is that when we were in Singapore Mark's boss, well actually the Asia-Pacific boss, took us out for dinner & offered Mark a job based in Singapore. Earlier in the week we'd gone out to the dry docks to look at some of the ships/rigs that are been built. It was great to see the ships Mark works on, all be it they were pulled apart, it was still cool. They're huge! Anyway he's been
offered a project management type role so I think he'll be in charge/involved with all the electrical design work etc for the 2 new builds.
So what does this mean I hear you ask? Well we're no longer moving to Thailand... We're moving to Singapore :D He's out on the rig at the moment so hopefully this'll be his last hitch then we'll be home in November for a friends wedding then I'm hoping that his company will have all the paper work & visa's sorted out & we'll be heading over early dec... Who knows though, the paperwork could take a while. They
arrange everything for both of us, pay for all our accommodation & expenses so it's pretty awesome. I don't know how long we'll be there but is sound like it could be 1-2years...
I won't ramble on anymore. I'm not sure where I'm going to head to next. Probably up north, will have to do a bit of research cause at the moment I have no clue :) I like the area I'm staying in Bangkok, just passed kaoh san rd, so I'll chill here a few days then head off.
Hope this makes sense, I haven't re read it so I'm sure there'll be a few mistakes... :)
