Settled in... Now :o)

Cusco. Local date 17 April 4.45pm
I'm starting to feel heaps more confident with my Spanish & are understanding heaps more & can have very basic conversations.

The walk to tipon last Saturday was great but well just about killed me ;) The whole walking up steep hills with my asthma didn't really work that well. I made it to the top any way & the ruins were pretty cool. The Incas set up this whole irrigation system that's quite impressive. I took heaps of photos, it was just a really beautiful place.

I spent most of Sunday recovering but went to the black markets then town with my homestay family & watched the Easter processions. The dancers were amazing & their outfits were so colorful & interesting. There were some even dressed as bears, it was a pretty hot day so I felt quite sorry for them. We had lunch at a local restaurant (the usual 3 courses). Lunch is usually about 2pm or 3pm. After that I went home & relaxed a bit then met up with Dan at Plaza de Armuz, Gemma bailed on us cause she had the trek the next day (5.30am) and was feeling pretty tired.

Monday - School in the morning as per usual, then salsa, drinks with friends - this time at a English pub.

Tuesday - Read sore teeth entry below :o)

Wednesday - Felt like shit, teeth v sore, went to school in the morning, went home had lunch, went to bed (at 3 in the afternoon) slept for a few hours. Woke up read my book, went back to sleep.

Thursday - Teeth STILL sore, felt ok though. Went to school, went home had lunch, met up with 4 friends & did a heap of sight seeing. It was really good went to San blas, the main church - its amazing the detail that goes into their churches. Its more like a art museum that a church. It kinda feels wrong that so many tourists are traipsing around what's supposed to be a spiritual place but it really is amazing to see! Went to a museum as well then met up with another group of people went for dinner & out to a club, opps sorry discotecha ;o) It was a really good night.

Ok really do have to go now....
