Last night was a blast!!!!

I'm back on the net again, not cause there's nothing better to do but because it's just after mid day & soooo bloody hot outside it's not funny! At least it's kinda air-conditioned in here & I'm not sweating rivers anymore... Plus just had to write a quick post about last night :)

After rushing back to the hotel & having a shower, putting on make up & my contacts in & actually feeling quite human we had dinner on the roof top of the hotel looking out over the Nile. Then a few of the girls had brought some bracelets, rings & pendants earlier so I went with them to pick it up & of course ended up buying a necklace pendant... In my defence it's silver & has my name written in hieroglyphics & only cost 30ep ($6au) so not to bad. It was going to take a hour for them to write my name on it & by this time it was 10pm so we thought we might as well go for a bit of a walk. Just out side the shop a guy in one of the horse & carriage taxi's pulls up besides up & offers us a ride & the 4 of us (Nick, Kate, Amanda & I) are like no it's ok. Then he goes it's only 5ep ($1au) for 30min. So we thought 'why not' knowing full well he'd want more. Anyway he ended up driving us round for about a hour & took us through the local markets which open till about 12pm & to some of the craft shops & a pyrpius shop (where everything was half price cause we weren't on a tour!). We had such a cool time although to start with we were pretty sure our organs were going to be harvested! :) In saying that though the guy that's making our trip t-shirts (a local) was with us so we felt pretty safe. After we'd gone back & picked up my pendant Nick had run out of money so we all went for a walk to the ATM & on the way back there was a guy & he's like - You have 3 problems (meaning us 3 girls) & he's following us along the street saying I'll help you with your problems - it was so funny! so many things like that happened last night, it was classic!

I'm getting a lot more attention here than I have anywhere else but none of it's that bad. I was expecting so much worse! Basic rule is to cover up - if you show skin, you're asking for trouble. I've been walking round by myself & feel really safe.

This tour is so different to the one in Africa! I'm loving it that we get free time but also get to see everything.

Today - We set off at 8am & have spent the last 4 hours walking, firstly, around a temple beginning with 'K' (can't remember the name) & then the Luxor temple. They're amazing!!! This is the sort of stuff that I love, we had a guide for the first part then got to explore on our own. In about 30min we're heading off to somewhere beginning with 'H' - man I'm bad... I'll look at what we're doing & commit it to memory at some stage! It's going to be a 5 hour drive this afternoon - & very hot!

Well better go... xoxox
